Smart Dental Desk lets a dentist connect their own Zoom account so that online consultations booked with them automatically get a Zoom meeting link — no manual scheduling on Zoom's side needed.
Adding the integration
- Log in to Smart Dental Desk as the dentist whose Zoom account you want to connect.
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Online Consultation.
- Click Connect next to Zoom.
- You'll be taken to Zoom's sign-in page — sign in with the Zoom account you want to use for consultations.
- Review and approve the permissions Zoom asks for, then you'll be returned to Smart Dental Desk showing "Connected".
Each dentist connects their own Zoom account individually — Smart Dental Desk never hosts meetings under a shared or platform-level account.
Using the integration
- When booking an appointment, set Consultation Mode to Online.
- Choose Zoom from the Video Provider dropdown.
- A Zoom meeting is created automatically for that appointment's date and time, under the connected dentist's account.
- The join link appears on the appointment's detail page as a Join Video Call button, ready to share with the patient.
- If the appointment is rescheduled, the Zoom meeting's time updates automatically. If it's cancelled, the Zoom meeting is removed automatically.
Removing the integration
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Online Consultation.
- Click Disconnect next to Zoom.
- This immediately revokes Smart Dental Desk's access to that Zoom account. Existing appointments keep their already-created join links, but no new Zoom meetings will be generated until you reconnect.
You can also revoke access directly from your Zoom account's connected apps settings at any time.
What data is accessed
Smart Dental Desk only creates, updates, and deletes meetings it creates for your online consultations. It does not read your other Zoom meetings, recordings, contacts, or account settings. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
